Learning to be “Daring” like Warren Buffett: Strategies for Starting a Business and Investing

Have you ever heard the saying: “Don’t fear failure, fear never starting at all”?

Many of us get trapped in the planning phase for way too long without ever daring to take a single step. In reality, one of the ultimate keys to success is having the courage to be “daring”. Of course, this doesn’t mean being reckless without calculation, but rather possessing the boldness of trying new things in order to achieve greatness - just like Warren Buffet often emphasizes.

In this post, we are going to dissect the core principles of the legendary investor when it comes to starting anything. How exactly do we do it?

1. Understand risk, don’t avoid it.
   Risk is inevitably present in every business move or investment. However, you can minimize it by deeply understanding what you are buying or what you are working on.
2. Start early and build consistency.
   The longer a business or investment runs, the more it expands through the compounding effect. Remember, wealth and success are built on consistency, not just temporary speed.
   
   
3. Develop a long-term mindset.
   Avoid making decisions driven by fleeting emotions or just jumping on the trend–what people nowadays call FOMO. Focus strictly on the long-term value of what you are building.
   
   
4. Capitalize the momentum.
   Treat market downturns or public panic as massive opportunities. When others are afraid, that is the perfect time to snap up quality assets at “a discounted price”.
   
   
5. Invest in what you understand.
